👩‍🏫 Celebrate Afterschool Professionals April 20–24
NJSACC is celebrating Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week (APAW), April 20–24, to recognize, appreciate, and advocate for those who work with young people during out-of-school time.
We’re joining this national effort led by the National AfterSchool Association (NAA) because research shows that afterschool professionals make a profound difference in the lives of young people. From supporting academic growth to fostering social and emotional development, these professionals are essential to helping youth thrive.
We encourage you to join us in thanking and uplifting afterschool professionals this week, and to continue supporting them year-round.
Here are a few ways you can show your appreciation:
– Share your gratitude on social media:
“Afterschool professionals make a profound difference in the lives of young people. Thank you for all you do! #HeartOfAfterschool”
– Write a personal note or card from you and/or your child to an afterschool professional.
– Send a message to a program leader or supervisor sharing why a staff member deserves recognition.
– Create a small gesture of appreciation for your local program staff, such as a thank-you board, snacks, or a team shout-out.
– Advocate for afterschool professionals by sharing why job quality and workforce support matter in your community.
